Hopefully naivety of the first book plays into the second. Seems like they had it pretty well, there survivors. Mother had some good EOTWAWKI skills, the local farmer was a great asset. Also having some medical survivors was a bonus. I'm just not wanting to think that without the rule of law many people will be nice and many will do anything without lack of consequence...in a very short time period.The book kept me interested and I can't wait for the sequel. There were a few grammatical errors but I can live with that if the story is good!Great read.

The story is mildly interesting, albeit very slow moving. I kept with it hoping to be happy with the end. What end? It dragged along until the last couple of chapters when something bad finally happened to a survivor of the Red Death that was a mystery to be solved----in the next book. The last pages said, "to be continued." Wait just a minute here. There was a beginning and middle with nothing happening (except finding dead bodies) and no satisfying conclusion or resolution to a problem. I love a good sequel, but the writer has to wrap up the first book in a satisfying way first. Then move on to the sequel. The writer pulled a fast one on the reader.

Can’t wait to read the next story. Lots of action and well written. Loved an Australian based story. A story about surviving a pandemic. It was realistic- I enjoyed the strong well developed characters. A story that I’m sure others will enjoy.

Fine work focusing on personal relationships more than anarchy. Good character development and nice pacing if the story. I highly recommend. I have read over 200 post-apocalyptic books and this one is in the top 20.

A refreshing, almost poignant take on the very real human experience in a setting we hope never to experience ourselves. Carefully crafted with characters the reader will bond with. A very skilled writer.

A pandemic. A softly told story with depth and detail. A realistically told story that keeps you turning the pages. Real people coping and coming together. Can't wait for the next book!

So many pandemic novels are filled with violence and rape. This author explores the human experience. A refreshing new take on an age old idea.

Worth the time and emotional investment. Just wonderful. Felt like I knew all the characters personally.The only thing I wish is that the writer described what the characters looked like.
