I picked up this book on a recommendation, and could not put it down. Both an easy and great read that will inspire all Americans. I have just picked up Tom Blair’s first book; “What Would Ben Say?” which was a NYT best seller, sound very cool.Tom has captured our National story, one letter at a time. He draws on the tales of those brave Americans who ventured into uncertainty to seek their part of the American dream. His letters cut across all walks of life. Some will make you stand up and cheer while others will remind you that life is not fair. But, in the end it will reinforce why this county is the greatest... It was and continues to be, the people.This book should be on every students reading list. The stories provide more than a well-researched look at portions of US history, they provide backdrops for conversation that even today play out in the public square. As we all address or own personal challenges these letters remind us that nothing is certain, but moving forward is better than just standing still.

Should be required reading in middle school ( Jr High! In a world of virtual living thus is a glimpse of what it means to live.

Worth reading.....the stories that are good are very good, a couple of the others just ok!
