I loved this book when I read it in our school library. My grandson likes to write and this story about Dr. Seuss as a boy has been an encouragement to him. I have found that children enjoy finding out about the authors of the books that they read and learning that these authors were once ordinary kids just like they are.

Great story.

When I read this book to my kids, they had lots of questions about Dr. Seuss. They enjoyed the book and so did I. We learned more about him that we did not know.

My son loves Theodore Geisel and thought he would be interested in this book

Any fan of Dr. Seuss will enjoy this book. I enjoyed all the details and pulled out the highlights to use with my class. It includes a great summarized list of his works at the end.

This is a wonderful biography, geared for children, on the life of Dr. Seuss. The book focuses on his early years, then has more details about the end of his life in an epilogue. I am not sure who enjoyed this book more, my 7-year-old, or me! We purchased it for our Dr. Seuss unit, part of celebrating his birthday March 2nd. This book encourages young ones to follow their dreams, as it details Ted Geisel pursuing his love for drawing. It is a wonderfully imaginative and positive story. I also love the illustrations! This book really builds your love for this already beloved children's book author. Highly recommend.

An excellent introduction for kids to meet the man we all know of as Dr. Suess. The part I liked the best was that Dr. Suess was not normal. He did not fit the mold. So, he coaxed the world to fit him. Great book.
