Our family has several of Crews' books, including "Freight Train," "Inside Freight Train," "Truck," and "Flying." Our son adores them all. They may seem simple to adults' eyes, but something about these books really captures a child's imagination. Perfect for a young toddler, this book tells the story of a plane trip with only a few words per page. It's great for helping a 1-3 year-old child understand air travel (e.g., the idea that people use planes to get from one location to another.)If your child is familiar with Crews' other books, he or she will delight in finding that the rainbow-colored train from "Freight Train" and the red semi truck from "Truck" make a cameo appearance in this book, hidden in plain sight among all the other tiny cars, trucks, and houses on the ground as the plane flies across the sky.

Great book! One of my 2-year-old son's favorite, he wants to read it all the time!!!

Our son (1-1/2 yrs.) loves, loves, loves this book - although he is big into planes anyway. Only a few words in the book (Boarding, Taxiing, etc.), but I think that just adds to the charm of (and fixes the focus on) the evocative illustrations. Nice to see some diversity among the characters too.

Cute simple book I got to use in Toddler Storytime. The kids liked it.

Wonderful book about airplanes and flight. Toddlers enjoy looking at the pages on their own and ask adults to read the book to them.

Great book--we used it to prepare our toddler for her first plane trip. It is one of her favorites, though I'm not sure she really got the connection while we were flying:). We're loaning it to family who plan to travel with their toddler soon.

Combine this book and Airport by Byron Barton and your 2 year old will be set for an airplane ride to Nana's house! Simple with nice clean illustrations. Subtle references to other awesome Donald Crews's books, like Freight Train and Truck

I read this over and over to my grandchild. My grandson loves this book and makes meaning of the language and context. Wonderfully illustrated.
