This book is perfect for my five-year-old grandson who will be starting kindergarten this week. It has cute illustrations and shows a child's fears of starting school. Ellie is an elephant and when she sits in her chair it breaks in half, causing the other children to laugh. But when Ellie rescues a ball in a tree she becomes friends with the children in her class for her act of kindness. Ellie ends the day by looking forward to the next day of school. If you have a child starting school, be sure to buy this book to read to them.

It’s fun, and this makes a good bed time story, and teaches lessons in diversity at school. The rhymes were spot on, and the illustrations were great.

My daughter absolutely loves this book. She wants me to read it almost every night for bedtime.Ellie is very relatable, my daughter's favorite part is when she "lost her song" she saw herself in that sentence and hasn't forgotten it ever since. Highly recommend it for anxious children.

Love it kids think it's funny

This book was an okay point. But I really didn't like how no one played with Ellie until she got the basketball down. I don't think that was a good approach for a children's book. Graphics were great.

This is a great book for children who are going to a new school whether it’s preschool or regular school. I think this book will help a child who may be fearing the change of going to a new school. Ellie is happy about going to school and singing a song as she goes with her mom to school. A few little embarrassing events happen that could happen to anyone! Ellie has a nice teacher who pays attention to her. This is very reassuring. Eventually Ellie is successful with making friends with her classmates and has fun at school. This book ends on a happy note! Ellie is in bed sleeping and thinking about going back to school tomorrow... Lovely illustrations and a storyline that would be easy for any young child to understand. ( I have received an advanced readers copy and I am happy to provide my own opinion in this review )
